VP - Development and Construction Accounting

Anthem has a pivotal and unique opportunity on their executive team. Based in downtown Vancouver and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Development and Construction Accounting will lead and mentor a team of 21 professionals, directly and indirectly, with responsibility for accounting and finance for the land, house-building and vertical development portfolios. Acting as business partner to the Development and Construction teams, you will provide hands-on support with project proformas, development financing, construction loan draws and cash flow management. You will have overall responsibility for the accounting and financial reporting function of the development portfolio ensuring the project teams and senior management are provided timely financial information to assist with decision making while continually developing and improving business processes.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on financial executive with in-depth expertise in real estate development and project accounting. You are most comfortable in an environment of open dialogue, contributing to effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Possessing great versatility in a dynamic and challenging work environment, you see things from a 10-foot tactical view as well as a 10,000-foot strategic view. Exuding passion for real estate, you have excellent leadership and relationship building skills at all levels within the organization. You have an innate ability to crunch numbers combined with extensive hands-on experience providing financial insight for the development/project team as well as executive decision support.
