VP Operations

Our client is a successful Canadian company undergoing change in order to increase productivity, grow revenue and ensure customer satisfaction. As the VP Operations, reporting to the President, you will be the national leader responsible for managing change as you lead, develop and support the operations teams across Canada. This is a critical time to analyze current productivity and service levels and identify opportunities for improvement as well as growth. Work closely with the different locations and business unit leaders to develop strategies, build highly motivated and engaged teams and meet corporate operational and financial goals. Bring a focus on continuous improvement, seek out solutions, build business cases to support change and establish long term goals for success and growth. Work collaboratively with internal business units and corporate stakeholders as well as external customers and suppliers.
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • Undergrad degree in Business Administration or similar preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior management role with a successful track record of operational leadership
  • Experience from transportation industry REQUIRED, particularly LTL
  • Excellent people management skills – building and coaching successful teams, leading highly productive teams with strong morale through a time of change and culture shift
  • Strong data analytics mindset, establishing metrics, measuring productivity and driving success
  • Experience from an Unionized environment is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated change management/transformation experience, open minded, entrepreneurial with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
