Our client, a leading and well reputed Global Financial Services organization is looking for a trusted enterprise Risk Executive to support the senior executive team in rolling out and maintaining a new structure. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Chief Risk Officer - Commercial Banking and Global Banking & Markets provides and executes on strategic risk direction while providing overall leadership to the risk portfolio including reputational risk, operational risk, credit risk and Financial Crime Compliance. Given the critical contributions of this role, it is a high-profile role in the organization, providing career growth opportunities. This role is located in either Toronto or Vancouver.
The portfolio of responsibilities includes governance and oversight of risks, influence business strategies with high risk through risk mitigation, ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks,  implementation of group risk policies and risk management procedures, monitor emerging risks, oversight for management information risk, establish KRI/KPI ‘s to support comprehensive risk, oversight of the risk governance framework and lead the development of risk modeling/scenario analysis.
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • Undergrad in Finance, Business or Economics ideally coupled with an MBA or CFA designation ideal
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Enterprise Risk Management, particularly operational, credit, market and liquidity risk
  • Commercial Banking background required. Capital Market background exposure an asset
  • Strong expertise in dealing with regulatory bodies
  • Solid team leadership and management of a high performing team
  • Strategic thinker and pragmatic implementer able to develop efficient methods of bringing about change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships, influence thinking and decisions and provide strategic leadership across the Investor community
  • Strong understanding of utilization of management information systems for info gathering purposes and reporting
  • Excellent presentation skills to executive level audience
