Are you a skilled investment banking professional who can lead deal execution and contribute to origination?  Can you take a lead role in negotiating major deals yet go deep into the underlying models that evaluate those deals?  Our client, an independent direct investor, could use your expertise as their Vice President, Infrastructure Investment.


Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario they are the infrastructure platform of one of Canada’s largest investment managers.  They are on a rapid growth curve with a goal to triple AUM in the next 3 years.  Their focus is on acquiring core and core plus infrastructure projects that generate long-term stable cash flow.  The Vice President will be involved in identifying and executing acquisitions and managing its portfolio.


The role of Vice President will be responsible for:
  • Playing a key role in opportunity evaluation and deal execution for asset acquisition and new project development
  • Leading all aspects of each opportunity, marshaling both internal and external resources
  • Mentoring Analysts and Associates and helping them prepare for the next level
  • Working with the team on performing detailed investment due diligence
  • Post-acquisition investment monitoring and management
  • Working with the team on value creation opportunities, such as re-financings, add-on acquisitions and divestitures
  • Assisting with the development of new funds and presenting to investors.
 
This role is ideal for someone who still enjoys being involved in the details of a deal.  The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
 
  • Undergraduate degree with superlative academic performance - a focus on business or finance is preferred
  • At least 7 years of directly applicable experience at: (i) a top tier investment bank with a focus on M&A or corporate finance, (ii) private investment fund, (iii) management consulting firm or (iv) operating company
  • Significant and direct exposure to the infrastructure sector
  • Deep experience in complex financial modeling involving infrastructure projects and/or project financing
  • Performing detailed due diligence
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of business/investment judgment relative to experience
  • Strong desire to work in a close-knit team
  • CFA and/or CA/CPA would be a plus
