Director/VP Finance

Our client, a leader in the mobile and retail industries, is growing exponentially and has a need to upscale and improve their finance infrastructure in order to meet their growth aspirations. They are therefore looking to hire a Director/VP Finance to join their team. If you are an entrepreneurial Finance leader, with a strong business partnering mindset, and enjoy working alongside the CEO and other operational and sales leaders, this will be a very exciting role for you.

As the head of Finance, you will be involved in both strategic and tactical duties. You will bring a mature and dynamic leadership style to the team, collaboratively working with all business units. You will be the right-hand person to the CEO providing support and guidance for this complex, growing retail organization. The role includes strong leadership in: structuring month-ends to improve and streamline processes, improve financial and management reporting for decision support to the leaders, taking a leadership role in financial planning and analysis, cash-management and internal controls. In addition, lead and develop the accounting team to establish a strong base of skilled and motivated professionals. Establish open communication with the business, providing pro-active and helpful dialogue in meeting strategic and business goals. This role requires a roll up your sleeves individual, who will take ownership and create an environment of accountability and delivery.

In order to be considered for this position, you will possess the following:
  • CPA designation required
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience within a fast paced, growing, sales oriented culture
  • Proven business partnering mindset, contributing significantly to the overall growth and success of organizations; having successfully worked alongside the owners/leaders of the business
  • Hands-on, lead from the front mentality combined with strategic skill-sets
  • Strong people management skills, developing team members, building careers and a long-term succession planning strategy
  • Proficiency with accounting software, exceptional Excel skills, an interest in embracing technology by improving systems and processes
  • Experience from telecommunications, retail, technology industries ideal but not a must
  • Detail oriented, organized, pro-active and assertive personality, ideally from an owner-managed or family owned business
