Manager, Operational Due Diligence, Global Pension Fund

Our client is a prestigious, global investment management firm looking for a candidate who will bring their knowledge and enthusiasm of the global financial markets to the team.

The Operational Due Diligence team is a fast paced and dynamic team that operates as an Independent Advisor / Internal Consultant providing assessments of the operational governance of external managers in conjunction with the Investments Division which conducts their own investments assessments.
The on-site operational due diligence activities include an assessment of documentation, systems, processes and overall controls including, but not limited to, valuations, investment operations, risk management, and performance measurement. The Manager will be responsible for preparing a written analysis of the operational risks uncovered through their due diligence activities and presenting these findings internally to senior members of the Finance, Legal and Investments teams.
In order to be considered for this position, you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Minimum 8 years of investment or operational due diligence, investment operations, financial institutions/private equity/hedge fund audit, prime brokerage, and/or investment reporting experience. Hedge fund and/or private equity fund experience from an operations standpoint is an absolute requirement. 
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build credibility with the investment teams along with the external fund managers. They will have exceptional communication skills and ability to influence and articulate their views in a concise and effective manner.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA and/or CAIA would be preferred (though these designations/degrees are not absolute requirements). A University degree is a requirement.
  • Strong writing skills – ability to write professional memorandums that are clear and concise.
  • Strong presentation skills – this role requires presenting assessments to various internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel when required – this role will involve approximately 20% international travel.
