Director of Finance

Are you a CPA with extensive experience working in a fast-paced environment able to balance multiple tasks while providing the highest level of support to management and colleagues? Do you have experience working in small to mid-size companies in a hands-on capacity handling the accounting and finance responsibilities of the organization? If so, our client located in Toronto may be a good fit for you.

Our client is a family office, and as the Director of Finance you will work in a small corporate team, ‘owning’ the finance and accounting functions. You will be focused on full cycle accounting, financial reporting, banking relationships and vendor management. Responsibilities also include developing financial and management reporting, managing audit requirements, quarterbacking tax filings and compliance with authorities, and dealing with external auditors and legal advisors. An attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and analytical skills are required to work in this dynamic firm supporting the Partners directly.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • CPA, CA Designation required
  • 10+ years of direct relevant experience working in mid-sized organizations
  • Solid hands-on financial statement preparation expertise; knowledge of investments an asset.
  • Ability to hold full Controllership responsibilities including day-to-day accounting, cash flow management, accounts payable/vendor management
  • Ability to work autonomously and to deal directly with senior management
  • Foster strong working relationships throughout the organization and with all levels
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills to deal internally and with external stakeholders
